Finished grey shingle roof with newly installed roof vents

Our services

Roof repair, diagnosed properly before it’s quoted.

Six services covering almost every roof problem in Richmond Hill. Each one begins the same way — finding where water actually enters, rather than repairing where it happens to show up inside.

The approach

Diagnosis first. Always.

Water rarely enters where it appears. It travels along sheathing, trusses and insulation before it reaches a ceiling, which is why a repair aimed at the stain so often produces a second call-back. Every service below starts with locating the true entry point — and a good proportion of the roofs we're asked to replace turn out to need a repair instead.

Shingle, slate-profile and low-slope roof sections meeting on one property

01

Roof leak repair

The core service. Infrared scanning, attic-side inspection and sectioned water testing to establish exactly where water enters, followed by a targeted repair and a verification test before we leave.

  • Infrared moisture mapping
  • Leak versus condensation diagnosis
  • Entry point confirmed, not guessed
  • Water-tested after repair

02

Shingle roof repair

Richmond Hill's most frequent repair. Wind-lifted and missing courses, cracked or curling tabs, failed nailing lines and valley detailing — replaced and re-sealed rather than torn off wholesale.

  • Blow-off and wind damage
  • Nail-line and seal-strip failures
  • Valley, ridge and hip detailing
  • Builder-defect assessment

03

Flat roof repair

Low-slope membrane across SBS modified bitumen, EPDM and TPO. Open seams, blisters and splits repaired with compatible materials — and ponding corrected at the slope rather than covered over.

  • Seam, blister and split repair
  • Parapet caps and terminations
  • Drains, scuppers and equipment curbs
  • Ponding and drainage correction

04

Chimney & flashing repair

Step flashing, counter-flashing, crickets and mortar joints. Where a roof meets a vertical wall is one of the most reliable places to find the real entry point behind an unexplained ceiling stain.

  • Step and counter-flashing rebuild
  • Mortar joint and crown repair
  • Cricket and saddle detailing
  • Wall-to-roof terminations

05

Skylight repair

Skylights leak considerably more often than the roof around them. Curb, apron and head flashing rebuilt and glazing seals renewed — usually for a fraction of the replacement unit people are quoted.

  • Curb and apron flashing rebuild
  • Glazing seal renewal
  • Condensation versus leak assessment
  • Unit replacement when warranted

06

Emergency roof repair

Active leak, storm damage or a failed section in bad weather. We secure the roof to stop water entry the same day where conditions allow, then schedule the permanent repair once the surface is dry enough to bond.

  • Same-day response where possible
  • Tarping and temporary weather-tightening
  • Interior water containment
  • Documentation for insurance claims

The skill behind the service

Four ways we find water you can't see.

Locating a leak is a separate discipline from installing roofing, and it's the one that decides whether you pay for a repair or a replacement.

Infrared thermography

Wet insulation cools at a different rate from dry insulation. Scanned as surface temperatures fall, saturated areas appear as defined shapes — mapping how far water has spread beneath the surface.

Attic-side inspection

Half the evidence sits under the deck. Staining patterns on sheathing, frost at nail points and daylight at penetrations tell us whether water entered above or condensed below.

Leak or condensation

They look identical from a ceiling. A leak tracks rainfall and thaw; condensation appears in cold snaps with no rain, usually above bathrooms and kitchens. No roof work fixes the second one.

Sectioned water testing

Controlled testing confirms the entry point before the repair, and confirms the repair holds afterwards. We don't hand a roof back on the strength of a theory.

Not sure what you need?

Start with what you're actually seeing.

The symptom usually points to the service. If none of these match, call and describe it — that conversation is free and often settles it.

What we work on

Every system this city builds with.

Repairs are matched to the existing assembly. SBS to SBS, EPDM to EPDM, shingle line matched where it's still manufactured — mixing incompatible products is how one repair becomes two.

  • Asphalt shingle
  • Synthetic slate & slate-profile tile
  • SBS modified bitumen
  • EPDM
  • TPO
  • Metal flashing & detailing
  • Skylight curbs & glazing
  • Parapets & cap flashing
  • Drains & scuppers
  • Plywood decking & sheathing

Before you book

Questions about the work itself.

Answered the way we'd answer them on a roof.

How do you decide between repair and replacement?

On the failure pattern, not the roof's age. Isolated damage on an otherwise sound roof — a wind-lifted course, one failed flashing detail, a split seam — is a repair, even on an older roof. Replacement is warranted when failures appear in several unrelated places at once, when the sheathing has lost structural integrity, or when membrane has shrunk past the point where new material will bond.

Can a repair be done in winter?

Emergency work, yes — the roof gets secured and made weather-tight in any conditions. Permanent repairs depend on the material: shingle self-seal strips need warmth to bond, and membrane adhesives and torch work need a dry, clean surface. We'll tell you honestly whether a repair will hold now or whether temporary protection until conditions improve is the better call.

How long does a typical repair take?

Most residential leak repairs are completed in a single visit. Flashing rebuilds and skylight curb work usually run half a day to a day. Where decking has rotted and needs cutting out, add time for the structural work — and that's the scenario worth avoiding by not leaving a small repair through two winters.

Do you guarantee the repair?

Yes. Scope, materials and warranty term appear on the invoice before work starts, and if the leak returns within the term we come back at no charge. Every completed repair is photographed so you can see what was done without climbing a ladder.

Will a repair match the existing roof?

We match the shingle line and colour where it's still manufactured. On older roofs the exact product is sometimes discontinued, in which case we source the closest available and place it where it's least visible from the street. Weathering also means a perfect match to a fifteen-year-old roof isn't physically possible — we'll show you the options before proceeding.

Do you work on commercial buildings?

Yes. Low-slope membrane, rooftop equipment curbs, parapets, drains and scuppers on commercial and multi-unit properties, scheduled to minimise disruption. Emergency response is available for active leaks where downtime is the real cost.
